"Elliot" by Adelaide (4.5 years old)
Miss Adelaide loves painting and has painted almost every day since she was a toddler. She often randomly announces "I need to paint!"
Adelaide is extremely proud of her 'work' and despite the sheer volume of it she will lose her mind if she happens to catch any of her scrawlings in the recycling bin. LOSE HER MIND IN ANGUISH AND DESPAIR!!! Me tossing any of her 'work' must be done under extreme covert tactics.
details of note:
- Elliot's belly button
- black paint up Addie's right nostril.
- Addie always makes her E's with lots of 'stripes'.

Beyond cute! And I have the same dilemma with my daughter's drawings...it makes me so sad tossing some of her works... I wish I can keep all of them. :(
She's an adorable artist in the making!
I don't remember how I found your blog but I love it because I am often reading about my life when I read about yours. I have a 3.5 year old daughter who is very creative and I have a 1 year old son. After your son was born you wrote about how much you missed your daughter - I knew exactly how you felt. But what prompted me to write today was the painting - it looks very much like my daughter's drawings and she also adds so many lines to her "E". That really made me smile!
LOVE the extra stripes on the E's! Might have to start doing that myself.
Love it! Go, Adelaide!
Aw. what a little artist! She's good, I never remember the belly button.
Too cute and the comments made me laugh!
My kids have the same problem parting with things. I saw this http://remodelista.com/date/2011/01/11#post_5780 last night and thought it may be an excellent alternative if you made it yourself?!

Well, she should be proud... that's really cute. And I specially adore the 'stripes' of the E.
My daughter makes stripes on her E's too and is likewise devastated when I throw any of her artwork away. I really love your blog and how you encourage your daughter's creativity. You have inspired me to do the same for my daughter. Thanks. ;)
ADORABLE! and so funny.
she is an artist, mama!!!!! :)
My daughter Emily does the same thing with her E's as well and I have the same problem with the volume of artwork at my house as well.
My 3.5 year old just saw some of her "work" in the recycling bin. "But I did that all by myself!!" Made me feel like I was throwing out the Mona Lisa.
She also likes to stick her paintbrush up her nose. I don't think DaVinci did that.
she is adorable!
The bellybutton made me laugh so hard. That is so adorable! Imagine if cats did have bellybuttons...
She's an incredibly good artist for a wee 4.5 years old! I drew people with legs coming out of their heads (and arms, of course, attached to the legs) when I was that old.
I try to keep everything, but some things make it to the recycle. I take a picture first and use them as wallpaper on my computer. That way they live forever:)
your Addie sounds a lot like my K, who is also 4.5 years old!
Just you wait...girls only get more dramatic with age. Life would be so boring without it :).
GOSH! she is just the most gorgeous little girl in the world...
thea.

She makes my heart swell.
she's the best!
Oh, such a lovely likeness of Elliot. Teeny little belly button and the Embellished "E" is quite nice. How she loves her work...that's the sign of a true artist.
Needless to say, that Addy is adorable.
how is that not the cutest thing ever?! love the paint in the nose/bellybutton/special E combo! :)
also note that Elliot has whiskers...! Awesome!
The Elliot drawing is adorable! Here are some suggestions for addressing the quantity of her body of 'work':)http://www.kiddio.org/2008/09/ask-kiddio-what-to-do-with-all-of-this-artwork.html
I love any draw comes for a kid is the most pure art that you can see
